I'm almost Back...

Well, I have had some computer issues which has prompted my Blogging vacation. I almost forgot how to post. I was able to read most of your Posts but was not able to contribute myself.

Thanks to my fellow Bloggers that missed me. and hey Chaotic Home>LOVE THE NEW LOOK!!!

Oh by the way everyone HAPPY EASTER.
We have some great friends coming over and are smoking a brisket & chicken.

This is the first year that I have not made confetti eggs. My kids are disappointed. Confetti eggs are egg shells that I poke a hole in pour out the egg, wash thoroughly, color the shells with dye, let dry, fill with confetti & then top with a square of tissue paper. The goal then is to not only chase down your victim and crash the egg on their head but the seasoned veteran would withhold an egg in the attempts to prey on your victim when they least expect it. Now my 10 year and 7 year old can't help themselves:they go through their eggs in 2 seconds flat. The teenagers - well they are now seasoned veterans! They can hold on to an egg for days-weeks-& months and believe me when I say that when you least expect it WHAM right on the NOGGIN. Now I have had these eggs every year of my life- and in San Antonio, Texas where they are called cascarones (roll the R) you can buy them off the streets for a dollar a dozen. Oh how I miss that! But as you read before they are hard work. Or should I say time consuming. So ... I took a year off but I think that I am the one who is missing them. So I will make a huge batch for Cinco de Mayo. I actually have had friends ask me when that is.....Sorry if your reading this D. but it is just too funny!

Well I have enjoyed being back and will attempt a more interesting BLOG tomorrow.......Until then.........

Nice to see you. I'm all about buying something when it's a dozen for a dollar...but when you miss a tradition like you've missed your cascarones...well, you have to bite the bullet and make them for your kids (and yourself). Looking forward to more posts!

OH! I used to do those blown out eggs, too! Almost forgot that! ;)

I've been kind of boring-blogging, too. Like my MIND has been on vacation. Oh, well, it will get up and running soon, I'm sure.

How was the brisket? I'm drooling over here... ;)
