Just when I thought my kids were smart

Real life conversation with our "almost" 15 year old son today.

Son:
"Mommy, can I go to Sam's tonight?"

Me:
"We'll see...how today goes and how helpful you are!"

(son cleans kitchen for added points)

(other line rings while son is speaking to his girlfriend)

Son:
"Hello"

Dad:
"Where's you mom?"

Son:
"downstairs"

Dad:
"let me talk to her!"

Son:
"Well...I'm on the other line!"

Dad:
(silence wondering if said son realizes who he is talking to)

Son:
"You know...it's free, if you call her on her cell phone!"

Dad:
(silence)

Son:
"MOOOOOOM telephone!"

(later that day)

Son:
"Mommy can I go to Sam's?"

Me:
(long stare, smirk, dibelief)
"You realize that your dad told me what you said to him on the phone don't you?"

Son:
(smirk...silence)
leaves the room.

The end!

*added note:
(While eating dinner)

Son:
"I'll clean the dishes after dinner!"

DAD & MOM:
(smirk)
