This man has taken over my family

SCENARIO #1 OUT OF 5000

"This school reminds me of my last school except it smells like mushrooms
and everybody looks like they want to beat me up!"

This is what my 2nd grader said to me this morning when I dropped him off at school.
I, of course being the over-reactor that the kids call me, immediately say,
"What do you mean everybody looks like they want to beat you up?"

"Mommy, that is what Elf says when his dad sent him down to work in the mailroom."

SCENARIO #2 OUT OF 5000

"Mommy, can I ask you a question?" (this is while I'm making dinner)

"Sure."

"YOU -ARE- ELEEEEEC-TRIC!!"

(moment of silence)

"That's not a question"

"Mommy, it's from Anchorman!"

(moment of silence)

(burst into laughter)

These are just a couple of examples of our DAILY life. I can't even decipher reality from "cinema"
anymore. I have many moments of silence after they say clever things to me because I have no idea if they are serious or if it is Will Ferrell speaking to me.

They have recently discovered Chris Farley and it amazes how quickly they can not only memorize the lines but the actual sound of their voice and mannerisms.

I didn't think we would ever survive the Napoleon Dynamite quotes but with school starting up again...as soon as I ask...

"How was school today?"

"Worst day of my life, what do you think?"

The best part of it all is that my husband and I both thrive off of this kind of humor, so to have 4 children who all share that with us, makes for a happy home.

Some families ski together, some families golf together, some even bike together.

My family...

they quote movies together.

Ron Burgundy: You stay classy, San Diego. I'm Ron Burgundy?
Ed Harken: Dammit! Who typed a question mark on the Teleprompter?

we find our lives usually can be directly linked to a quote from the simpsons at any given moment.

Have you seen Talladega Nights yet? my boys Walker and Texas Ranger loved it! you will have a whole new world of quotes opening up after that one.
